Redefining Career : My Personal Reflection

Updated: Apr 2

Have you ever found yourself overwhelmed by aspirations crowding your mind, only to realize that despite being fully capable, you've made little progress in your career? It's a scenario many can relate to, a feeling of stagnation while witnessing others effortlessly maneuver through the challenges of professional life. The desire for financial independence is a powerful motivator, yet it seems elusive, slipping through your fingers despite your best efforts. I've been there, caught in a cycle of career shifts, breaks, and a constant battle against the invisible force hindering progress.

Working hard is not foreign to me, and neither is the commitment to achieving goals. Yet, the question persists: why does the journey seem relentless, and why does success feel just out of reach? It's not a matter of laziness or procrastination; these are not the sole culprits in everyone's journey. The frustration intensifies when you witness others effortlessly navigating through their careers, excelling in financial independence, and seamlessly balancing family responsibilities. I've always yearned to be that person—someone I could look up to with pride, both professionally and personally. I've been blessed with various aspects of life, yet this particular pursuit seems to defy my grasp.  So, what sets my path apart?

In the pursuit of career success, its easy to fall into the trap of defining it solely as a 9 to 5 job. So then, I sat down to reflect on my journey, and I came to a realization that may be life was showing me a different path! Persistence and perseverance are not qualities that confines us to a corner. They guide us to amazing self-discoveries. As creative minds, restlessness may astray us from our initial goals but stumble upon far more meaningful paths. To take career in your hands and make independent choices!

You've studied and worked hard not just to be a part of the crowd, but to make your life fulfilling. Don't settle for being a mere part of a team, but strive to create a path that aligns with your passion making a difference in the world.

So, to those, like me, who lost in their pursuit of career success, I urge you to take a moment and look into yourself. What is your definition of career. Are you still waiting for someone else to choose you or would you like to embrace the freedom of your choice and choose your path?

Remember you are not alone!
