Redefining beauty

I grew up in a time when beauty was narrowly defined by specific criteria, mostly revolving around physical appearance. You were expected to be young, fair, or conventionally attractive to be considered beautiful. As a result, many of us from that generation hid our true selves, afraid to show confidence or playfulness. This could be attributed to various forms of inequality, whether based on gender, status, or other factors.

Fortunately, things are changing for the better. People are redefining beauty in more inclusive ways. It's no longer confined to strict physical standards but is seen as something deeper and more multifaceted. As the saying goes, "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder," and this is becoming more evident. However, this doesn't mean that physical beauty has lost its appeal. We still appreciate it, but we also understand that true beauty is more than skin-deep.

Real beauty encompasses a range of qualities. It's about what you're capable of, your kindness and toughness, your compassion and ability to be ruthless, being all in one at the right time knowing when to use each of these traits. This broader perspective on beauty is a positive shift that benefits us all.

The beauty we speak of is in accepting everyone for who they are. People are becoming less judgmental and more open-minded, eager to see what each person has to offer.

It's truly wonderful to see the world changing for the better. This shift towards acceptance is remarkable. Let acceptance be the new criterion for beauty.

"Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself." - Coco Chanel
